Creative Process by Carol Ann Howell
Posted April 24th, 2008 by srsorrellThe creative process needs input. We must make something out of nothing. We have an empty page, an empty space, and we must take something of ourselves to birth a new entity. That takes a lot of ego-strength. We need someone to cheer us on when we run out of steam. In Spanish they call it apoyo. We need that support in our lives as a whole, to help us to be the best we can. Without apoyo we whither. You can be be a self-starter only so long until you begin to run on minus.
But with apoyo, you can create anything! You never run out of ideas! I say that writing is so easy for me it is like water flowing. And with encouragement, it gushes and more makes more!
Collecting Images
Posted April 18th, 2008 by srsorrellHello all of my creative friends who are out there on the web and looking for ways to help jump-start those ideas for you artwork. I have read creativity books and have always been interested in how a person cultivates a creative soul. So I am planning, if life doesn't get in the way to give a creative tip each to stir up your inspiration.
Let's get started with our first creative tip for the week!
-Go through your stack of magazines and pull out photos that interest you. (I love to use National Geographic since the photos are so cool.) I want you to start keeping file folders of images. People, animals, buildings, artwork, landscapes, and other topics you can think of.
